Spanish La Liga giants, Real Madrid have been hit with another significant setback as they prepare for their upcoming La Liga match against Celta Vigo on October 19.

According to an official statement released by Real Madrid on Tuesday, October 8, the club’s defender, Eder Militão has sustained a muscle injury in the quadriceps of his left leg ahead of the October international break.

The club’s medical services conducted tests on Militão, confirming the diagnosis of the quadriceps muscle injury.

Real Madrid have stated that they will closely monitor Militão’s progress during the October international break, which means that the 26-year-old Brazilian defender is not expected to link up with the Brazil national team during the break.

This development has increased Real Madrid’s injury list, which includes David Alaba (Cruciate ligament tear), Daniel Carvajal (Cruciate ligament tear), Brahim Díaz (Hamstring injury), and Dani Ceballos (ankle sprain).

Other Real Madrid players injured are Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (Adductor tear), Vinicius Junior (Cervical spine injury), and goalkeeper Andriy Lunin (infection).

The statement from Real Madrid emphasized that Eder Militão is expected to be sidelined for approximately ten days due to the injury. As a result, the Brazilian international is anticipated to make his return to action later in the month, providing a boost for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
