The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) recently arrested Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, at Seme Border on his way to the Benin Republic.
Following his arrest, there were reports that Bobrisky was rushed to the police hospital in Falomo, Lagos, due to severe breast pain experienced while in custody at the Alagbon police station.
Vanguard described a scenario in which the crossdresser was allegedly transported by police ambulance to facilitate a covert transfer to the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) of the Lagos State Police Command.
The report claimed that the move was made under the guise of a medical emergency to avoid public scrutiny, with Bobrisky purportedly being stretchered during the journey under the watch of a female nurse and an armed officer.
However, the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Lagos has officially refuted these claims.
In an interview with Premium Times, the Lagos FCID Public Relations Officer, Aminat Mayegun, categorically denied that Bobrisky was either ill or hospitalized.
Ms Mayegun clarified, “We are not investigating Bobrisky; he was handed over to us by immigration. We saw the report about Bobrisky being hospitalised due to breast pain. How? He is not experiencing any breast pain. We are responsible for him at the moment. It is completely untrue. He is not experiencing any health issues. That never happened.”
When asked about Bobrisky’s current situation and if he would be moved from the FCID, Mayegun hinted that “there would be updates soon” but emphasized that, for now, Bobrisky “remains under their care without any health concerns.”
