Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has threatened to sack any member of his cabinet that fails to meet expectations.
Governor Yusuf, who confirmed receiving a report on the performance of his cabinet members, stated that the public will soon learn about the government’s next steps.
Naija News reports that Governor Yusuf updated the public on his cabinet’s reshuffle plans during a live radio interview with selected media organizations at the Government House during the week.
He disclosed that no current commissioners applied for their positions, emphasizing that he looked for experience, credibility, and input during the selection process.
He expressed his expectations for the commissioners, including loyalty to him, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, along with a commitment to their duties and the creation of beneficial projects for the state’s development.
Regarding efforts to combat poverty, the governor mentioned that the state’s residents have received free food supplies in both urban and rural areas to ease the suffering caused by the removal of petroleum subsidies.
He promised to continue this initiative to help thousands of less privileged individuals afford their daily meals.
Governor Yusuf further said KASCO company that provides fertiliser for teeming farmers is being upgraded to provide enough commodities for farmers to boost food production.
The governor also said his administration accords priority to women and youths.
He disclosed that every month 52,000 women and youths across the state receive ₦50,000 to set up business and becomes self-reliant.
