The Russian seat of government, Kremlin, on Monday, disclaimed a report that Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and US President-elect, Donald Trump, spoke on the phone last week about the Ukraine conflict.
The Washington Post reported on Sunday that Trump talked by phone on Thursday with Vladimir Putin, telling him not to inflame the Ukraine conflict.
Putin’s Press Secretary, Dmitry Peskov, told journalists that the report was “completely false information“.
According to the United State’s Washington Post, “during the call, which Trump took from his resort in Florida, he advised the Russian president not to escalate the war in Ukraine and reminded him of Washington’s sizable military presence in Europe, said a person familiar with the call, who, like others interviewed for this story, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter.”
According to BBC, the Russian President, Putin, speaking at an event in the Russian city of Sochi, said that Trump was “hounded from all sides” during his first term in the White House.
Putin was also reported to have said that Trump’s claim that he can help end the war in Ukraine “deserves attention at least“.
The former US president during his campaigns, consistently maintained he would end war between Ukraine and Russia. He also promised to end war in the Middle East.
