The Benin Republic forward Junior Olaitan believes that his country can beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria once again.

Libya’s captain, Feisal Al-Badri, has expressed the Mediterranean Knights’ determination to emerge victorious against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo.

The Super Eagles are heavily favoured to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Group D encounter. They are going into the match as the group leaders, while Nasser Al-Hadiri’s Libyan side are yet to secure a victory in the qualifying series.

During a press conference in Uyo, Al-Badri emphasized their intent to secure their first win against the formidable Super Eagles. He said, “We’re here to win.

“We know we’re up against the strongest team in Africa, but we came here to win.”

Furthermore, Libya’s head coach, Nasser Al-Hadiri, emphasized the team’s commitment to giving their all in their quest to defeat the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Mediterranean Knights understand that securing a victory against the Super Eagles is crucial for revitalizing their chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, as they currently have only one point from two games in Group D.

The coach said, “We lost 4-0 here before. Now we are back to see how we can improve our game. Being my first game isn’t going to put any pressure on me. We can only put pressure on Nigeria. We know it’s difficult to win here, but in Libya, we must try to secure victory.”

The 2025 AFCON qualifiers will kick off at 5 p.m. later today, October 11.
