The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has revealed plans to introduce monthly awards to recognize the exceptional performances of Nigerian football players across various leagues, especially the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The NFF monthly awards will encompass categories such as Player of the Month (Male and Female), Goal of the Month, and Discovery of the Month.

Nominations for the inaugural round of awards are scheduled to be unveiled on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

During the nomination period, fans and journalists will have the opportunity to cast their votes for their preferred players through the official NFF voting portal on the organization’s website www.thenff.com.

The voting phase for the NFF monthly awards will extend for one week following the announcement of the nominations.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation Referees Committee is carrying out a comprehensive training program for referees.

This program has been designed to benefit referees from the Nigeria Women’s Football League, Nigeria National League, and the Nationwide League One.

The training activities were conducted at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, and commenced with a rigorous medical and physical fitness assessment.

Note that the 2024-25 NNL season is set to commence on Saturday, November 30, while an official start date for the NWFL season is yet to be announced by the organizers.
