The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called the attention of Nigeria Police and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to an alleged All Progressives Congress (APC) agent distributing money to voters.
PDP Situation Room alleged that the APC agent was inducing voters with money to vote for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the ongoing Ondo State governorship election.
The APC agent was alleged to be distributing the money at Unit 5, Ward 8, Iwaro Oka, Akoko South West local government area.
The main opposition party also called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest the alleged APC agent.
“Happening now, APC agents caught inducing voters by distributing money and other items in Ward 8, Unite 5, Iwaro oka, Akoko South West Local Government Area. Police, EFCC and other security agents, please take note,” it read.
Naija News reported that PDP earlier called the attention of INEC to the malfunctioning of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), an electronic device designed to read Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and authenticate voters, deployed in the state.
Particularly, the party said BVAS deployed at Unit 4. Ward 7, at Akoko West local government area, was faulty and hampering the election process in the unit.
“Election is yet to commence in unit 04 ward 7, AKOKO West due to faulty Bivas machine. INEC, please intervene,” it said.
