Osimhen struck two quickfire first-half goals to take Gala 3-0 up at half time, but his side almost rued their missed chances later on, as Spurs romped back in a five goal thriller.

The game eventually ended 3-2 in favour of the hosts and, though Osimhen had to be replaced in the 80th minute of Thursday’s match due to taut veins, the lad on loan from SSC Napoli of Italy felt he should have done more for his side before limping off.

Sports247.ng reports further that the reigning African Footballer of The Year also stated delight that his pattern of play again yielded dividends for his Istanbul-based Turkish Super Lig side.

Osinhem said, “This is my game and my kind of striker. I am very explosive and always try to look at the open space to exploit it.

“I really didn’t go much on the opposite side this time, but, overall, I am happy with my performance.”

He then gave a general assessment of his performance against the highly rated team from London and conceded that his missed chances put pressure on his team.

“I think I should have scored four goals, instead of just two. The last two that I missed, I think, was because I lost a little bit of focus.

“That’s why I was really angry with myself. I will go back, watch the clip, and try to get better,” Osimhen pledged.

The former Ultimate Strikers of Lagos, VfL Wolfsburg of Germany, RC Charleroi of Belgium and Lille Metropole of France hitman then concluded with an unbiased analysis of Tottenham’s quality, as seen during Thursday’s match.

“It was a difficult game, and we were aware of the kind of team we were playing against.

“In their final third, they are really good, and they press the ball impressively. I will give credit to them, but we deserve the win.

“We played good, and we were really decisive. For me, being able to contribute with two goals is really very important to me.

“I hope my injury is not serious. So, we’ll go back, recover, and prepare for the next game,” Osimhen’s affirmed.

The 25-year-,old striker, who is already Nigeria’s all-time third highest goals scorer, concluded with a verdict that he is happy at Galatasaray and said he still believes the squad has enough depth and quality to win the Europa League in May 2025.
