Power Minister Orders Immediate Implementation Of Recommendations To Stop Embarrassing National Grid Collapses In Nigeria

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has ordered the immediate implementation of the recommendations of a committee set up to prefer solutions to the incessant National Grid collapse and other electricity issues in the country.​


The Special Adviser to the Minister on Strategic Communications and Media, Bolaji Tunji, disclosed that Adelabu has ordered the Transition Company of Nigeria (TCN) and all other relevant agencies of the ministry to begin the immediate implementation of the recommendations of the inter-agency committee.

According to the media aide, Adelabu gave the instruction that all relevant agencies in the ministry must brace up for the immediate implementation of the recommendations of the committee, which was submitted on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

“The recommendations of the committee are far-reaching and will proffer lasting solutions to the incessant power grid collapses that we have embarrassingly witnessed in the country in the immediate and long term,” Tunji said.

Meanwhile, the federal government has denied a fresh collapse of the National Grid on Friday.

According to a short statement by managers of the grid via their account on the X account, reports about another grid collapse are false information.

The clarification follows complaints about light out in certain locations of the country, which was quickly attributed to another grid collapse. However, the managers of the national infrastructure were quick to assure that there is no fresh collapse of the National Grid.

“Kindly disregard another grid collapse information being spread.

“It’s false information!
” the statement read.
