Super Eagles of Nigeria winger, Samuel Chukwueze has applauded his AC Milan teammates following their hard-fought victory against Udinese at the San Siro on Saturday night.
The match ended with a narrow 1-0 win, thanks to Samuel Chukwueze’s decisive goal, marking a significant moment in his journey at the club.
This goal was particularly special for the Nigerian international, as it was his first at the San Siro since joining AC Milan from Villarreal last summer. It also served as a personal milestone, being his first goal in nine appearances across all competitions this season.
The game proved to be particularly challenging for the Rossoneri, who found themselves down to ten men after Tijjani Reijnders received a straight red card in the 29th minute for a reckless foul on Sandi Lovric.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, AC Milan demonstrated remarkable resilience, defending tenaciously and displaying a commendable team spirit throughout the match.
“This victory was incredibly important for all of us,” Chukwueze said after the final whistle. “It was a good match overall, and we worked hard as a team. Our defensive efforts were solid, and everyone contributed to the collective performance. We truly needed this win.”
The 24-year-old Nigeria international added, “Now, we must shift our focus to the upcoming game on Tuesday. This win boosts our confidence tremendously, and it’s vital for us, the coach, and our aspirations moving forward. It feels fantastic to score and secure such an important victory, and we need to push ourselves towards achieving more goals as a unit.”
