She is the founder and Managing Partner of Ingressive Capital, a prominent venture fund focused on investing in early-stage technology startups across Africa.Early Life and Education Maya Horgan Famodu was born on March 24, 1991. She holds Nigerian and American citizenship, with a Nigerian father and an American mother. Famodu spent most of her formative years in Minnesota, United States. She pursued her higher education at Pomona College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Sciences. Additionally, she completed a Pre-law Program at Cornell University.Career Progression and Major Achievements Famodu’s career has centered on driving global investment into the African tech industry. She established Ingressive Capital, which invests in early-stage startups throughout the continent, committing to backing the new generation of African innovators. In addition to her work with Ingressive Capital, Famodu co-founded the High Growth Africa Summit in 2016, a key conference dedicated to launching successful businesses in Africa. She also co-founded Ingressive for Good (I4G) alongside her colleagues Sean Burrowes and Blessing Abeng.
