Dr. Obinna Tochukwu Iyiegbu (born April 12, 1975), popularly known as Obi Cubana, is a Nigerian businessman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He is the Chairman and Founder of the Cubana Group, a prominent hospitality and entertainment conglomerate in Nigeria. Early Life and Education Obinna Iyiegbu was born on April 12, 1975, in the town of Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. He was raised in a family environment that emphasized values like integrity and discipline. His educational journey began at Central Primary School, Oba, and continued at Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha. He later proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he studied Political Science and graduated with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in 1998. In recognition of his success and contributions, he was conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) on November 26, 2022. Career Progression and The Cubana Group Iyiegbu’s career as an entrepreneur began in 2006 when he established Ibiza Nightclub in Abuja. Building on this initial success, he founded the Cubana Group in 2009, launching a hospitality club in Owerri, Imo State, which expanded into a national empire of venues including Cubana Lagos, Cubana Owerri, Cubana Abuja, Cubana Gustavo (Enugu), and Hustle and Bustle (Abuja).
