Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi is a prominent Nigerian traditional ruler, currently serving as the 16th Oluwo of Iwo, a historic town in Osun State, Nigeria. He is known for his modern approach to traditional kingship, extensive philanthropic efforts, and public commentary on social issues.Early Life and Education Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi was born on June 21, 1967, into the family of Prince Kola Akanbi of the Gbaase Ruling House in Iwo Kingdom, Osun State. He was raised in Iwo and began his secondary education in 1978 at Iwo Grammar School, Araromi, before moving to Oba Akinyele Memorial High School, Idi-Ape, Ibadan. For his tertiary education, Oba Akanbi attended the Polytechnic Ibadan, where he earned a National Diploma in Mass Communication in 1987. He lived and worked in Canada for several years. He was selected and installed as the 16th Oluwo of Iwo on January 16, 2016, succeeding Oba Ashiru Olatunbosun Tadese.
