**William Folorunso Kumuyi: Nigerian Pastor, Author, and Televangelist** William Folorunso Ikumuyiwa Kumuyi was born on June 6, 1941, in Erin-Odo Ijesha, Osun State, Nigeria, into a strict Anglican Christian family. His early upbringing emphasized religious adherence, including reading the Bible, singing hymns, and regular church attendance. For his formal education, he attended Mayflower School. Kumuyi later pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the University of Ibadan, followed by a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCertEd) from the University of Lagos. **Education and Teaching Career** Kumuyi began his professional career as an educator, first teaching mathematics at his alma mater, Mayflower School, starting in 1962. Following his further studies, he became a lecturer of mathematics at the University of Lagos in the early 1970s. During this time, he was deeply involved in Christian ministry. He experienced a born-again conversion on April 5, 1964, at the age of 23, and was influenced by the works of preachers like John Wesley, Charles Finney, and Charles Spurgeon. He also became involved with the Scripture Union. **Christian Ministry and Deeper Christian Life Ministry** In 1973, while still serving as a Math Lecturer at the University of Lagos, Kumuyi established the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, initially as a small Bible study group. The ministry grew rapidly, eventually becoming the Deeper Life Bible Church, a major international denomination often described as "post-denominational" and known for its emphasis on the Holiness movement. Kumuyi serves as the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, a role he assumed when the office was established in 1973. He is also the Convener of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK). **Major Achievements and Notable Works** Kumuyi is recognized globally as a pastor, author, and televangelist. He is credited with establishing one of the largest Christian churches in Lagos, Nigeria, and propagating the Gospel message both within Nigeria and internationally through continuous evangelism. His published works include several Christian books and devotionals, such as: * *The Spirit Controlled Family* (1996) * *The Lord's Prayer* (1997) * *The Truly Liberated Woman* (2000) * *Supernatural Supply in All Situations* (2009) * *Daily Manna* (A Daily Devotional Guide) * *Higher Everyday* (A Daily Devotional Guide for Successful Youths)In 2024, a 325-page biography, *Kumuyi: Defender of the Faith*, was launched, celebrating his life and ministry, with a foreword written by Enoch Adeboye. **Personal Life and Current Status** Kumuyi was married to his first wife, Abiodun Kumuyi, from 1980 until her death in 2009. They had two children. He remarried in 2010 to Esther Folashade Kumuyi.
