Ahmed Usman Ododo

Ahmed Usman Ododo is a Nigerian politician and certified public accountant who currently serves as the Governor of Kogi State, Nigeria. He is a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and rose to prominence through his extensive background in public finance and administration within the state government. Early Life and Education Ahmed Usman Ododo was born in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State. He completed his primary and secondary education in his home state. For his tertiary education, he attended the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accounting. Demonstrating a commitment to professional development, he further obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management and a member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Public Accountants of Nigeria (IPAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). Career Progression and Major Achievements Ododo built a comprehensive career in public service, specializing in finance, administration, and auditing. Prior to entering elective politics, he served in various financial capacities within the Kogi State government. His most notable appointment before becoming Governor was as the Auditor-General for Local Governments in Kogi State, a position where he was tasked with ensuring fiscal transparency and accountability across the state's local administration areas.
