He served as the Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, leading the bank’s finance and performance management. His career reached a pinnacle in 2014 when he was appointed by the President of Nigeria as the Deputy Governor for Financial System Stability (FSS) at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). In this role, he was a key driver of financial policy and supervision, contributing significantly to maintaining the stability and resilience of the Nigerian financial system.Political Career and Current Status After completing his five-year term at the CBN in 2018, Adelabu ventured into politics. He contested the 2019 Governorship election in Oyo State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Although he did not win, he remained an active figure in Nigerian politics.
