Biodun Oyebanji

Biodun Oyebanji Biodun Oyebanji (born Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji on December 21, 1967, in Ikogosi-Ekiti, Western State, now in Ekiti State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian academic, public servant, and politician who currently serves as the Governor of Ekiti State. He is a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party. Early Life and Education Oyebanji began his academic journey at Baptist Primary School, Ikogosi-Ekiti, before attending Awo Community High School. He later transferred to C.A.C. Grammar School. He continued his tertiary education at Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti), where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in Political Science in 1989. Following this, he proceeded to the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, where he obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Political Science in 1992, specializing in International Relations and Strategic Studies. Career Progression and Public Service Before his entry into electoral politics, Oyebanji spent years in academia and public service. He worked as a lecturer at the Department of Political Science, University of Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University). His professional career transitioned into executive public service in the early days of Ekiti State's creation. Oyebanji’s political career includes several key appointments within the state government. He served as the Secretary to the Government of Ekiti State, a pivotal role in the administration. His extensive experience in governance, starting from the state's foundation, positioned him as a veteran public administrator. Major Achievements and Notable Works As a key figure in Ekiti State politics, Oyebanji's major achievement is his current role as the Governor of Ekiti State. He was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Current Status Biodun Oyebanji is currently serving as the democratically elected Governor of Ekiti State, Nigeria. He is married to Olayemi Oyebanji.
