Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola (born November 11, 1992), widely known by her stage name DJ Cuppy, is a Nigerian disc jockey, record producer, remixer, and philanthropist. She is recognized as a prominent figure in the Afrobeats and Afropop music scenes, known for her vibrant personality and advocacy work on global platforms. She is the daughter of Nigerian businessman Femi Otedola.Early Life and Education Cuppy was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and spent her early years there before relocating to London at the age of 13. Her pursuit of education has been notable. She graduated from King's College London in July 2014 with a degree in Business and Economics. She furthered her studies by earning a master's degree in Music Business from New York University in 2015. In 2021, she matriculated at the University of Oxford, where she studied for a master's degree in African Studies and graduated in 2022.Career Progression and Notable Works DJ Cuppy launched her professional music career in 2013 and founded the record label Red Velvet Music Group. Her early career saw her rise as a prominent DJ, culminating in her serving as the resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban in 2014. She became the first African act to perform at the Oil Barons Charity in Dubai in March 2015. Her transition into recording artistry began with her debut official single, "Green Light," featuring Tekno, released in October 2017. This was followed by notable singles like "Werk" (2018) and the hit track "Gelato" (2019), featuring Zlatan. In 2020, she released her debut album, *Original Copy*, which included collaborations with artists such as Rema, Rayvanny, Fireboy DML, Stonebwoy, and Megan Thee Stallion on tracks like "Jollof on the Jet" and "Fkn Around."Major Achievements and Current Status Cuppy's career extends beyond music into philanthropy and global advocacy. In July 2018, she founded the Cuppy Foundation, which notably organized the Gold Gala in 2019, raising over N5 billion for the Save the Children initiative in Nigeria. She was inducted into *Forbes Magazine's* 30 Under 30 class in 2020. In 2023, she was appointed as the first-ever international celebrity ambassador for His Majesty King Charles III's The King's Trust, focusing on youth empowerment. Currently, she continues to advocate for sustainable development and youth leadership, notably moderating the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2024.
