Eedris Abdulkareem (born Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja on December 24, 1974, in Kano, Nigeria) is a highly influential Nigerian hip hop artist, singer, rapper, and songwriter. He is widely recognized as one of the pioneers of Nigerian hip hop and a pivotal figure in the genre's growth within the country. **Early Life and Education** Eedris Abdulkareem was born into a polygamous family in Kano, Nigeria. While born in Kano, his father hailed from Ilesha in Osun State, and his mother was from Ogun State, both in Southwestern Nigeria; however, Eedris adopted Kano State as his state of origin.
