Adedamola Adefolahan (born January 1, 1996), popularly known as Fireboy DML, is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer-songwriter. He is recognized as one of the leading voices in the contemporary Afrobeats movement. Early Life and Education Fireboy DML was born and raised in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. He is the first of three children. He completed his primary and secondary education in Abeokuta before moving to Osun State where he attended Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), studying English. His passion for music began during his university years, where he started performing locally and developing his unique sound. Career Progression and Notable Works Fireboy DML began his professional career in 2018 when he signed with YBNL Nation, the record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide. He gained initial recognition with his hit single "Jealous," which showcased his distinctive blend of R\&B, Afropop, and Afro-Life styles. He released his debut studio album, Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps, in 2019. The album was a commercial success, generating popular tracks like "Vibration" and "Scatter." In 2020, he followed up with his sophomore album, Apollo, which further cemented his status in the global music scene and earned him several award nominations.
