Overview
Humblesmith (born Ekenedirichukwu Ijemba on May 14, 1991) is a Nigerian Afrobongo recording artist, singer-songwriter, and vocalist. He is best known for his hit single “Osinachi.”Early Life and Education Humblesmith was born in Uruala, Ide-Ato North LGA, Imo State, Nigeria, and was raised in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State. During his secondary school years, he developed an interest in dancing and was a member of a group known as American Boys. To pursue his entertainment career, he later relocated from Ebonyi State to Asaba City, Delta State. He first ventured into the entertainment industry as an actor, appearing in several films, including *Hypertension* (2010) alongside the late Sam Loco Efe.Career Progression and Achievements Humblesmith’s professional music career began in 2011. He rose to significant prominence following the release of his single “Osinachi.” This song, and its subsequent remix featuring Davido, brought him national recognition. His blend of R&B, Afropop, and highlife music has defined his genre, which he refers to as "Afrobongo." In 2016, his rising profile earned him a spot on *notJustOk's* list of "10 Artists To Watch." That year, he received multiple nominations, including Rookie of The Year at The Headies 2015, and Hottest Single, Best New Act, and Best Newcomer at the 2016 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and the 2016 African Muzik Magazine Awards. He won the Collaboration of the Year award at the 2016 City People Entertainment Awards for the "Osinachi (Remix)." He is currently signed to Show Bobo Music Limited.Notable Works and Status Humblesmith’s notable discography includes a stream of non-album singles released over the years. Following his breakthrough with "Osinachi," he released tracks such as "Jukwese" (featuring Flavour N'abania) and "Na U" (featuring Harrysong) in 2016, and "Abakaliki to Lasgidi" (featuring Olamide) in 2017. After a brief hiatus, he returned in December 2020 with the single “Kosi” (loosely translated as "God's will"), followed by "Dance" in 2021, "Omalicha" and "Born Champion" in 2022, and "Jidenna" and "With My Love" in 2023. His most recent known release is the 2024 track "Twis & Wain." He is also known as "The minister of Bolingo," referencing his *Bolingo* project.
