Jaywon Oluwajuwonlo Iledare (born June 6, 1986), widely known by his stage name Jaywon, is a Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, and performer. Recognized for his emotive vocal delivery and his fusion of Afropop with traditional Nigerian sounds, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the Nigerian music scene since the late 2000s. He is also known by the moniker "Oba Orin" (King of Music). Early Life and Education Jaywon was born on June 6, 1986, in Egbe, Kogi State, Nigeria. He developed an early interest in music, influenced by his cultural background and the growing contemporary music movement in Nigeria. He later pursued his education in Nigeria, though specific details regarding his tertiary studies are less documented than his professional career. Career Progression Jaywon began his professional music career around 2005. His breakthrough came when he signed with Kennis Music, a leading Nigerian record label at the time. Under Kennis Music, he released several hit singles and his debut album, solidifying his presence in the industry. He was known for songs that often blended catchy, commercial rhythms with profound, often traditional Yoruba lyrics. After his departure from Kennis Music, Jaywon founded his own record label, Next World Music, allowing him greater creative and business control over his output.
