John Ighodaro (born July 5, 1990), widely known by his stage name Johnny Drille, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer prominent for his alternative and folk music style, a rarity in the mainstream Nigerian music scene dominated by Afrobeats. His music is often characterized by soulful vocals, introspective lyrics, and acoustic arrangements, drawing comparisons to international artists like Ed Sheeran and James Blunt.Early Life and Education Johnny Drille was born in Edo State, Nigeria, and is the fifth of seven children. He grew up in a very religious household, with his father being a pastor. His interest in music developed early, starting with singing in the local church choir.
