Matthew Ashimolowo is a Nigerian-British clergyman, author, and entrepreneur, widely recognized as the Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), a megachurch based in London, England, with branches in Nigeria and other parts of the world. He is a prominent figure in the global Pentecostal movement, noted for teaching the prosperity gospel.Early Life and Education Matthew Ashimolowo was born on March 17, 1952, in Kaduna, Kaduna State, Nigeria. He was raised in a poor family and spent his early years in Zaria. He recalled his upbringing as being in the poorest, most dysfunctional part of Zaria.Career Progression and Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Ashimolowo converted to Christianity at the age of 20, following the death of his father. He began his ministry career shortly thereafter. In 1992, he founded the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in the United Kingdom, which has grown to become one of the largest Pentecostal churches in Western Europe. As the Senior Pastor, he has been central to KICC’s growth and global outreach.
