Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade (born July 19, 1991), widely known by his stage name Mr Eazi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. He is a prominent figure in African music, recognized for pioneering the "Banku Afrobeats" sound—a fusion of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and patterns.Early Life and Education Mr Eazi was born on July 19, 1991, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He grew up in an entrepreneurial family; his mother ran a small business, and his father, a pilot, established his own private aviation consulting practice. At the age of 16, Mr Eazi relocated to Ghana to pursue higher education. He enrolled in the mechanical engineering program at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana, where he began recording music in his free time. Initially, he intended to pursue a career in business and was involved in various ventures, including soft drinks import, gold mining, and food distribution.Career Progression and Notable Works Mr Eazi began his professional music career in 2012. He released his 13-track debut mixtape, *About to Blow*, in July 2013, which featured the singles "Pipi Dance" and "Bankulize." He gained significant international traction with the Efya-assisted single "Skin Tight" (2015) and his 2016 hit "Leg Over." In 2017, he released his second mixtape, *Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1 – Accra To Lagos*, further establishing his signature sound. The project served as a reflection of his dual residence and musical influences from both Nigeria and Ghana. In the same year, he collaborated with Eugy on the hit single "Dance for Me," which *The Guardian* included on its list of the 10 biggest African tracks of 2016. He has continued to collaborate internationally, releasing singles such as "Bad Vibe" (2018, with M.O and Lotto Boyzz), "Oh My Gawd" (2020, with Major Lazer, featuring Nicki Minaj and K4mo), and "Lento" (2020, with J Balvin). He also released the Extended Play (EP), *Something Else*, in February 2021.Major Achievements and Current Status Beyond his music career, Mr Eazi is a successful music executive. He founded the music and talent incubation platform, emPawa Africa, which aims to provide resources and mentorship for emerging African artists. This initiative has been supported by platforms like YouTube Music. In 2023, he released his debut studio album, *The Evil Genius*, on October 27. Mr Eazi's personal life has also been public, as he is known to be dating Temi Otedola, the daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola. His entrepreneurial drive and commitment to promoting African talent globally through his music and business ventures continue to solidify his status as a key figure in contemporary Afrobeats.
