Early Life and Education Nathaniel Bassey was born on August 27, 1981, in Lagos, Nigeria. He originates from Ikot Ofon Ikono, Uyo local government area in Akwa-Ibom state, South-South Nigeria. His father, Mr. E. Joshua Bassey, was a minister in The Apostolic Church Bashua Assembly, which significantly influenced Nathaniel's early love for both music and the gospel. Bassey’s musical journey began early, and he developed a strong interest in the trumpet. He is married to Sarah Bassey (m. 2013). Career Progression Bassey started his professional music career playing the trumpet for various music bands, eventually setting up a jazz ensemble known as "The Infinity." However, he transitioned fully into gospel ministry after a divine encounter, dedicating his musical talents to spreading the Christian faith.
