**Francis Ogbonna Erishi Nwifuru** Francis Ogbonna Erishi Nwifuru (born 25 February 1975) is a Nigerian politician and lawyer who currently serves as the Governor of Ebonyi State. Prior to his election as governor in 2023, he established a long-standing career in the legislative arm of government, serving as the Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly for two consecutive terms. **Early Life and Education** Nwifuru was born into a polygamous family to Chief and Mrs. Nwifuru Nwamkpu. He enrolled at Oferekpe Agbaja Community Primary School in 1991 and continued his secondary education at Community Secondary School, Nwofe Agbaja, which he completed in 1999. Nwifuru later attended Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, where he studied Building Technology and Wood Work. Driven by a passion for law, he attended the Nigerian Law School and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar, becoming a certified lawyer.
