**Peterson Okopi Biography** **Adikwu Peterson Okopi** (born August 8, 1997) is a Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter. Known for his dynamic worship leading, Okopi has established himself as a notable figure in African gospel music. He is a native of Otukpo Local Government Area, Benue State, Nigeria, and is a twin and the last born of six children. His passion for music began at the age of five. Okopi completed his primary and secondary education at the Nigerian Airforce Primary and Secondary School in Lagos. He furthered his studies at Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, where he obtained a Diploma in English Language. His early musical journey included being the third runner-up in the Destiny Child Gospel Talent Hunt Season 3 in 2015. Following this, he and two others formed a gospel acappella band called Delighters, which was active for three years. He is currently a member of Zion World Ministry in Lagos. Peterson Okopi officially launched his solo music career in 2018 with the debut of his first single, "Amazing God." He released his second single, "Baba," in 2019. His career gained significant momentum in 2020 when he was signed to TWC Records, a Nigerian record label. Under TWC Records, he released "Up to Something" in 2020, followed by his debut album, *Osuba*, in 2021. The album's title track, "Osuba," became one of his most popular singles, contributing significantly to his rise in popularity. In recognition of his impact on the gospel music scene, Okopi received several accolades. In 2021, he won the "Discovery Of The Year Gospel Artist In Africa" award at the CLIMA Africa Awards. He followed this success by winning the "Africa Male Gospel Artist of The Year" in 2022. As a performing artist, Okopi has shared the stage with other notable gospel music figures, including Nathaniel Bassey and Mercy Chinwo.
