Aliyu began her education at Dawaki Primary School, Suleja, Niger State, and completed her secondary education at the Federal Government College, Minna. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She also holds a second degree in Pharmacy from the same institution. Furthermore, she obtained a Master of Public Administration degree from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and holds a PhD in Security and Strategic Studies. Her political journey gained momentum with her appointment as the Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Youth, and Social Development to the Chairman of the then-Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory.
