He is widely recognized for revolutionizing the Jùjú music genre with the creation of his distinct sound, *Afro-Jùjú*. Early Life and Education Born in Ogun State, Nigeria, Peters began his career in music at a young age. He played with a group of friends under the name "Oshina and his 12 Fantastic Brothers," where he taught himself how to play the piano. Career Progression and Notable Works Peters' professional journey in music started by joining the band of the legendary Jùjú musician, Ebenezer Obey. He later left Obey's band to join General Prince Adekunle's band as a guitar player. During a period when Adekunle was ill, Peters stepped up as the lead singer, showcasing his vocal talent. Following this experience, he left and co-founded a band with Segun Adewale, named Shina Adewale, but the duo eventually split. In the 1980s, after releasing several albums with Segun Adewale, Sir Shina Peters formed his own band, "Sir Shina Peters and His International Stars." His major breakthrough came with the 1989 album *Ace*, which introduced the fast-paced, complex *Afro-Jùjú* style to the world, merging traditional Jùjú with Afrobeat elements. This album established him as a key innovator in African music.
