Stephanie Kemi Busari (born August 12, 1977, in Lagos, Nigeria) is an award-winning Nigerian journalist, widely recognized for her impactful investigative reporting and her role in leading international coverage of pivotal Nigerian and African stories. She is a prominent figure known for her dedication to giving a voice to marginalized communities and for her work in combating misinformation. Early Life and Education Busari was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and spent some of her formative years there, including attending boarding school in Nigeria between the ages of 10 and 12. She later moved to England. For her higher education, she studied French and Public Media at Trinity and All Saints College in Leeds (now Leeds Trinity University). She furthered her studies by attending the University of Rennes for an Advanced Diploma Program. Career Progression and Major Achievements Stephanie Busari has built a distinguished career as a journalist, focusing on significant global and African events. Her most notable achievement is her instrumental role in breaking the story of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls. She was responsible for securing and verifying the proof-of-life video, which mobilized international efforts for their rescue. This groundbreaking coverage earned her and CNN the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award.
