Olanrewaju Ogunmefun David (born August 7, 1984), widely known by his stage name Vector (or Vector Tha Viper), is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. He is a prominent figure in the Nigerian hip hop and Afrobeats music scene, celebrated for his lyrical prowess and unique blend of Hip Hop, Rap, and Rapfrobeat. Early Life and Education Vector was born in Lagos State, Nigeria, and hails from Ogun State. He is the fourth of five children. His early education included attendance at Command Children School, Ijebu Ode Grammar School, Government College Victoria Island, and Saint Gregory's College Ikoyi, Lagos. His journey into hip-hop began early, specifically in junior high around 1994. Career Progression Vector began his professional career in 2008. He released his first official single, "Kilode," in February 2010, followed by "Mary Jane" in April of the same year, both leading up to his debut album, *State of Surprise* (2010). His second album, *The Second Coming*, was released in 2012. In 2016, he released his third studio album, *Lafíaji*. In November 2019, he released the EP *Vibes Before Teslim: A Journey to Self-Discovery*, followed by the studio album *Teslìm: The Energy Still Lives in Me* in 2022. Vector is also notable for holding the record for the longest freestyle rap in Nigeria. In May 2020, he signed a record deal with Def Jam Africa. Major Achievements and Notable Works Vector has been recognized for his contributions to Nigerian rap, earning several awards throughout his career. He won "Best Afro Hip-Hop Video" at the Nigerian Music Video Awards (NMVA) 2012, and has won "Lyricist on the Roll" and "Best Rap Single" at The Headies, including for the track "King Kong" (2015). His work "Crown of Clay" earned him "Best Rap Single of the Year" at the Afro X Digitals Awards in 2021. He is also the voice behind a long-running Sprite radio commercial in Nigeria. Current Status Vector continues to be active in the music industry with his current label, GRAP Entertainment, and is known for actively promoting the spirit of Nigerian hip-hop, notably through projects like his mixtape *The Rap Dialogue* (2018). His latest album, *Teslim: The Energy Still Lives in Me*, won Best Rap Album at The Headies in 2023.
