Victoria James (born June 9, 1995), widely known as Veekee James, is an award-winning Nigerian fashion designer, entrepreneur, and songwriter. She is recognized as one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Nigerian luxury fashion, specializing in couture and bridal wear.Early Life and Education Ruth Erikan James was born on June 9, 1995, in Nsit Atai, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, where she also originates. She was raised in a family that included her father, an architect, and her mother, who owned a tailoring outlet. James showed entrepreneurial tendencies from a young age, reportedly beginning vocational entrepreneurship at age eight by knitting and selling wears in her local community. In 2015, she enrolled at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to pursue a degree in Biochemistry but later left to focus entirely on her burgeoning fashion career.Career Progression and Business Ventures Veekee James began her active career in 2019, founding the eponymous fashion brand Veekee James.
