Early Life and Education Ehikhamenor was born in Udomi-Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria. His creative sensibilities were nurtured by the traditional art and culture of his native Esan community. He attended the University of Benin, Nigeria, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts and Design. Furthering his education abroad, he obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree in Technology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and later a Master of Arts in English from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His diverse academic background in both the arts and humanities informs his critical and visual work. Career Progression and Major Achievements Ehikhamenor began his career in the early 2000s, gaining recognition for his distinctive artistic style characterized by dense patterns, symbolic imagery, and ritualistic textures. His art frequently explores themes of identity, memory, religion, colonialism, and contemporary Nigerian life. A major turning point in his career was his participation in the 57th Venice Biennale in 2017. He was one of three artists selected to represent Nigeria in its inaugural pavilion, exhibiting the massive sculpture *Brave New World*.
