Adams Ibrahim Adebola was born on May 5, 1988, in Ejigbo, Lagos State, Nigeria. He is a native of Ogun State. Adams received his primary and secondary education at Teammate Children School, Isolo, and Lagos State Civil Service Senior Model College, Ikorodu, respectively. He later attended the University of Lagos, where he studied Civil Engineering. To further his media career, he underwent professional journalism training at the BBC Academy, an educational arm of the British Broadcasting Corporation, and holds a certificate in journalism.

VJ Adams began his professional career in 2008 and is primarily known for his work as a video jockey and presenter on Soundcity TV, a prominent Nigerian music channel based in Lagos. His career progression saw him expand his influence across major industry events. He co-anchored the official red carpet event at the 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards alongside Nollywood actress Alex Okoroji, and also co-anchored the 2014 edition of the City People Entertainment Awards ceremony.
