Overview
Hazel Oyeze Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and reality television personality, best known as the winner of the sixth season of the reality show *Big Brother Naija*. Early Life and Education Whitemoney was born Hazel Oyeze Onou and is of Igbo descent, hailing from Enugu State, in the south-eastern region of Nigeria. He grew up in Kaduna State, located in the northern region of Nigeria. Academically, Whitemoney did not pursue tertiary education, having not progressed beyond the NECO level. Career Progression and Notable Works After growing up in Kaduna State, Whitemoney relocated to Lagos in pursuit of various job opportunities. Before his rise to fame, he engaged in several entrepreneurial ventures and occupations, including commercial photography, barbering, repairing generators, fixing telecommunication towers, and importing and selling designer shoes. Whitemoney launched a musical career, adopting the stage name White Money. His released songs include "Rosemary" (2018), "Your Life" (2018), and "My Heart" (2021). In 2021, he released the EP *Citizen*. Following his time on reality television, he released the single "Selense" on December 3, 2021, which was produced by Masterkraft, as well as singles like "Egwu" (2022) and "Oyoyo" (2023). Major Achievements and Current Status Whitemoney achieved widespread national recognition after participating in and winning the *Big Brother Naija* season 6, "Shine Ya Eye," in 2021. Since winning the reality show, he has continued his career as a media personality and musician. He remains active in the music industry, releasing new singles in subsequent years.
