Ahmed Musa is a Nigerian professional footballer who is widely regarded as one of Africa's most accomplished forwards. Known for his exceptional speed, technical skill, and versatility, he holds the distinction of being the first Nigerian to score in two FIFA World Cup tournaments. Early Life and Education Ahmed Musa was born on October 14, 1992, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. His mother, Sarah Musa, was a second wife to his father, who passed away when Ahmed was young, leaving his mother as his primary caregiver. Musa began playing football at a very early age, often on the streets and local fields of Jos. He received his early education in Jos, but his focus quickly turned to football, which led him to join several local academies to hone his skills. Career Progression Musa began his professional career in the Nigerian league, playing for JUTH F.C. and Kano Pillars F.C. In 2009–2010, while playing for Kano Pillars, he set a league record by scoring 18 goals, the most ever scored in a single Nigerian Premier League season at that time. This performance earned him a move to Europe, where he joined Dutch club VVV-Venlo in 2010. In 2012, Musa made a major transfer to Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow, a move that significantly elevated his career. During his four seasons with the club, he secured three Russian Premier League titles, one Russian Cup, and two Russian Super Cups. His consistent performance in Moscow attracted attention from major European leagues. In 2016, Musa signed with English Premier League side Leicester City for a club-record fee at the time. After a challenging spell, he returned to CSKA Moscow on loan in 2018.
