Beverly Naya, born Beverly Ifunaya Bassey, is a British-born Nigerian actress and entrepreneur recognized for her significant contributions to the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood. Early Life and Education Beverly Ifunaya Bassey was born in London, England, and is the only child of her Nigerian parents. At the age of 17, Naya began her acting career while pursuing tertiary education. She studied philosophy, psychology, and sociology at Brunel University. Furthering her academic and professional goals, she also studied script-writing and film-making at Roehampton University. She relocated to Nigeria to focus on being an active part of the Nigerian movie industry. Career Progression and Major Achievements Naya's professional career began in 2008 and she quickly rose to prominence. She was recognized as the Most Promising Talent at the 2010 Best of Nollywood Awards, followed by the Fast Rising Actress award at the 2011 City People Entertainment Awards. Her career success continued with wins like TV Actress of the Year at the 2014 ELOY Awards and Best Supporting Actress at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA).
