Chude Jideonwo
Overview
**Chude Jideonwo** (born Ifechukwude Osanedum Jideonwo on 16 March 1985) is a Nigerian television host, filmmaker, and media entrepreneur. He is widely recognized for his significant influence in African media, co-founding prominent media and public relations companies, and for his work focused on storytelling as a tool for empathy and social change.Early Life and Education Ifechukwude Osanedum Jideonwo was born on 16 March 1985. He received his primary education at K. Kotun Memorial Primary School, followed by secondary education at Adebola Baptist High School and Mayflower School, Ikenne. Jideonwo pursued higher education at the University of Lagos, where he studied law. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in November 2007. He is also an alumnus of the Pan African University and was a Yale World Fellow.Career and Entrepreneurship Jideonwo's career began in media, advertising, and public relations. He started as a production assistant on the set of *Inside Out with Agatha*, hosted by Agatha Amata, where he met his co-founder, Adebola Williams. He is the co-founder of **Red Africa** (formerly Red Media Africa) and is on the board of RED. Through Red Africa, his team has managed communication campaigns for multiple African presidents, including two Nigerian presidents and a Ghanaian president. He is also the founder of **Joy, Inc.** (an American corporation with a Nigerian subsidiary), an organization focused on joy and mental wellness.Major Achievements and Recognition Jideonwo has received several notable awards and recognitions for his work in media and entrepreneurship. These include being named a Yale World Fellow, receiving the Business Day 40 Under 40 award (2012), being featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30: Africa's Best Young Entrepreneurs list, and earning the CNBC Young Business Leader of the Year award. His writing and work have been published in international media outlets such as *The New York Times*, *The Guardian*, BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, *The Huffington Post*, and *The Financial Times*.Notable Works Jideonwo is an author and filmmaker. His book, *How Depression Saved My Life*, was published by Narrative Landscape. He has also been involved in television hosting and filmmaking throughout his career.Current Status In 2023, Chude Jideonwo was appointed as the board chair of The Initiative for Equal Rights (TIERs). In 2024, he was appointed as the Creative-In-Residence at the London School of Economics (LSE), focusing on his key expertise in entrepreneurship, advertising, PR, television, radio, print, and digital media.
