Overview
Confidence Staveley is a Nigerian technology entrepreneur, known primarily as the founder and Executive Director of CyberSafe Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting inclusive and safe digital access in Africa. She is recognized as a prominent figure in African cybersecurity and technology. Staveley pursued higher education at Middlesex University for her Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree, and later earned a Master's degree (MSc) in Information Technology Management from the University of Bradford. Her passion for cybersecurity was solidified during her Master's program through an elective course focused on cryptology. As a techpreneur, Staveley's career is marked by her work to improve digital literacy and safety. Her most notable work is the establishment of CyberSafe Foundation, which aims to improve inclusive and safe digital access across Africa, particularly focusing on cyber security awareness and education. In 2023, she was the first Nigerian woman to be inducted into the Forbes Technology Council. Her influential leadership and commitment to the field have earned her significant recognition, including being honored as a 2021 African Obama Leader by the Obama Foundation. Her major achievements include numerous awards such as the Women in Tech Africa Awards (2024), the ISC2 Global Achievement Award (2023), the Cyber Security Women Supporter of the Year Award (2022), the Meridian Global Citizen Award (2022), and Cyber Security Woman of the Year (2021). She was also listed among ABCD Africa's 50 Most Impactful Voices in 2023.
