Frederick Leonard
Overview
Frederick Nnaemeka Leonard (born May 1, 1980) is a prominent Nigerian actor. He was born in Anambra State, Nigeria. For his primary education, he attended Saint Peter's Anglican Primary School in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State, and subsequently attended Oregon High School in Oregon, Ikeja, Lagos State, for his secondary education. Seeking a degree, Leonard relocated to Kaduna State in Northern Nigeria and attended Kaduna Polytechnic, where he graduated with a degree in biochemistry. Leonard's professional acting career began in 2001. In 2009, he ventured into Nigerian TV with a feature in the TV soap opera series titled *Disclosure*, which aired predominantly on Africa Magic on DSTV. He debuted his film career with the movie *Grey* and has since become a recognized figure in Nollywood. In 2019, he produced the movie *Void*. Frederick Leonard has achieved notable recognition for his work, including winning the Best Supporting Actor award at the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards in 2014. In 2016, he won the City People Movie Award for Best Supporting Actor of the Year (English) and the Best Actor award at the Zulu African Film Academy Awards for his work in the movie *Woeman*. His selected filmography includes recent works such as *Maid of Honour* (2024), *Ghetto Heart* (2024), *Man in Love* (2024), *A Father's Love* (2024), *Crushed* (2023), *Good Things* (2023), *Stay* (2022), and *On Her Terms* (2022). Leonard married his colleague, Peggy Ovire, on November 19, 2022. He has described himself as an introvert who avoids drinking and smoking and maintains a small circle of friends and family. As of his current status, Leonard continues to be an active presence in the Nigerian film industry.
