Kate Henshaw: Biography and Career **Early Life and Education** Kate Henshaw was born on July 19, 1971, in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. She is the oldest of four children. She completed her primary education at St. Mary private school in Ajele, Lagos State. For her higher education, Henshaw attended the University of Calabar and also studied at LUTH (Lagos University Teaching Hospital) in Lagos, where she specialized in medical microbiology. **Career Progression and Notable Works** Before entering the film industry, Henshaw worked at the Bauchi State General Hospital and also pursued a career as a model, featuring in various commercials, notably a print and television advertisement for Shield deodorant. Henshaw transitioned into acting and has become one of Nigeria's most recognized and respected actresses in Nollywood, starring in over 45 films. Her career has spanned over two decades, establishing her as a versatile performer. **Major Achievements and Current Status** A significant milestone in her career came in 2008 when she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the movie *Stronger than Pain*. She was also nominated for the Best Actress in a Leading Role at the African Movie Academy Award in 2018 for her role in the film *Roti*. In 2017, she won Best Supporting Actress—English at the Best of Nollywood Awards for *The Women*. Notable recent works include roles in *Blood Sisters* (2022) as Uduak Ademola, *Kofa* (2022) as Kate Mshelia, *Bank Alert* (2023) as Jade, and *Nine* (2023) as Mother Assassin. She was married to British-born Roderick James Nuttal from 1999 until their divorce in 2011, and they have one child together. She is also a cousin of Andre Blaze.
