Overview
Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah Jr. was born on December 19, 1970, in Lagos, Nigeria, to a Lebanese father and a Yoruba mother from Owo, Ondo State. He grew up in Surulere, Lagos, where he attended Atara Primary School and Community Grammar School. He later received a diploma in Mass Communications from the University of Lagos. Nouah began his acting career in 1993, first appearing in the Nigerian television soap opera *Fortunes*. Following this, he transitioned into Nollywood films and gained significant popularity, often earning the moniker "Lover-Boy" for his romantic roles. His early filmography includes works like *Silent Night* (1996), *Fugitive* (2000), and *Power of Love* (2002). Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, Nouah established himself as one of Nigeria's most influential actors, featuring in numerous successful films such as *The Figurine* (2009), *Reloaded* (2009), *'76* (2016), and *Gbomo Gbomo Express* (2015). A major turning point in his career came in 2019 when he made his directorial debut with the film *Living in Bondage: Breaking Free*, a sequel to the 1992 Nollywood classic. This film was critically acclaimed and commercially successful. He followed up his directorial efforts with *Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story* in 2020. Among his major achievements, Ramsey Nouah won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2010 for his performance in *The Figurine*. He also won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 2020 for *Living in Bondage: Breaking Free*. He has an estimated net worth of about $10 million, largely accumulated through entertainment, endorsement deals, and business ventures. His notable works as an actor also include *The Accidental Spy* (2017) and *My Wife & I* (2017). Ramsey Nouah is married to Emelia Philip-Nouah, and they have three children together. He continues to be an active figure in the Nigerian film industry as an actor and film director. He is also known for his philanthropic efforts, particularly in education and youth development.
