Saminu Turaki: Biography and Political Career Saminu Turaki (born July 15, 1963) is a Nigerian politician and former state executive. He gained significant prominence in Nigerian politics for serving as the Governor of Jigawa State from May 29, 1999, to May 29, 2007. Early Life and Education Ibrahim Saminu Turaki was born in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State (then part of Kano State).
