Sammie Okposo: Nigerian Gospel Artist Sammie Okposo (born May 30, 1971 – died November 25, 2022) was a highly prominent Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, psalmist, music producer, and entrepreneur. He was recognized as a leading figure in the Nigerian gospel music scene for over two decades and was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zamar Entertainment. Early Life and Education Sammie Okposo was born and raised in Delta State, Nigeria. Details regarding his formal education are less documented, but his professional career in music began in the early 1990s, where he rapidly developed his skills as a producer. Career Progression and Notable Works Okposo officially began his professional career in 1992 as a soundtrack producer within the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood). He later transitioned into a full-time recording and performing artist. His debut album, *Unconditional Love*, was released in 2000 and featured the hit single "Welu-Welu," which established him as a significant force in the gospel music business. His sophomore album, *Addicted*, followed in 2004. Other notable albums include *The Statement* (2018), which was produced by Grammy-winning Kevin Bond. Okposo was known for his energetic performances and for curating a series of concerts titled the Sammie Okposo Praise Party (SOPP). Throughout his career, he frequently collaborated with other artists in the gospel and soul music fields both locally and internationally.
