Sola Sobowale is a Nigerian actress, producer, screenwriter, and director. She is recognized as one of the most prominent and influential figures in the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, known for her powerful and elegant interpretation of roles. Early Life and Education Sola Sobowale was born on December 26, 1963, in Ondo State, Nigeria, to her parents Joseph and Esther Olagookun. After completing her elementary and secondary education in Ondo, she pursued higher education at the University of Ibadan (UI), where she earned a bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts. Career Progression and Notable Works Sobowale's career has spanned several decades in the entertainment industry. She gained widespread recognition for her role as "Toyin Tomato" in the popular Nigerian television drama series, *Super Story*. Her career continued to ascend with roles in numerous Yoruba and English-language films. A major resurgence and international acclaim came with her leading role as "Laburu" in the 2018 political crime thriller *King of Boys*, which cemented her status as a powerhouse actress.
