Tobi Bakre

**Tobi Bakre** (born 1 June 1994) is a Nigerian actor, model, host, compere, and photographer. He was born in Lagos State, Nigeria. His older brother is Femi Bakre, the CEO of Kraks TV. Tobi Bakre attended the University of Lagos, following his father's footsteps, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance, graduating with a Second Class Honours Upper Division. Bakre initially pursued a career in finance, working as an investment banker for four years, which included a stint in the office of the Accountant General of the Federation and in the banking industry. His professional trajectory shifted significantly in 2018 when he participated in the third season of the popular reality television show, *Big Brother Naija*, where he finished as a finalist. His time on the show catapulted him to fame and provided a platform for his subsequent career in entertainment. Since 2018, Bakre has established himself as a versatile figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry. He transitioned into acting, starring in several notable films and television series, including *Mokalik (Mechanic)* (2019), *Sugar Rush* (2019), *RattleSnake: The Ahanna Story* (2020), *Sanitation Day* (2020), and *The Blood Covenant* (2021). His career gained significant momentum with his role as Akin Adetula in the 2022 crime action drama *Brotherhood* and his performance in *Gangs of Lagos* (2023). Tobi Bakre has received recognition for his acting talent. Notably, he won the Best Actor in a Drama, Movie or TV Series award at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) in 2023, for his work in *Brotherhood*. He also secured the Prize for Acting at The Future Awards Africa and the Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) in 2023. Additionally, he has served as a brand ambassador for several companies, including Unilever, Amstel Malta, and Jumia. In his personal life, Tobi Bakre is married to Anu Oladosu. They have two children, a boy and a girl, with their second child welcomed on 19 September 2023. Bakre continues to be an active force in Nollywood, known for his energy, work ethic, and range, with expectations for him to potentially cross over into Hollywood cinema.
