AY Makun

Ayodeji Richard Makun (born 19 August 1971), widely known by his stage name AY Makun, is a Nigerian comedian, actor, writer, producer, and director. He is recognized as one of Nigeria's most successful comedians and a prominent figure in Nollywood and the Nigerian entertainment industry. He is the founder of AY Live, one of the largest comedy shows in Africa, and the CEO of Corporate World Entertainment Nigeria. Early Life and Education Makun was born on August 19, 1971, and hails from Ifon, in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria. He is the eldest male child in a family of seven. He pursued his tertiary education at Delta State University, Abraka, where he studied Theatre Arts, eventually graduating in 2003 after spending nine years. Career Progression and Notable Works AY Makun began his career as a personal assistant and event manager to veteran Nigerian comedian Alibaba Akpobome. His exposure in the industry paved the way for his debut into stand-up comedy. He gained significant recognition with his show, AY Live, which debuted in 2007 and quickly became one of the most anticipated and well-attended comedy concerts in Nigeria, running annually across various cities. He also created the popular television series *AY's Crib*.
