Overview
Bovi Ugboma (born 25 September 1979) is a Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. He is recognized as one of Nigeria’s most prominent comedians, known for his satirical commentary and successful stand-up shows, particularly the "Bovi: Man on Fire" series, which he has toured globally. Early Life and Education Bovi Ugboma was born in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, Nigeria. He attended UNIBEN Staff School for his primary education. In 1991, he enrolled at Government College, Ughelli, in Delta State, before moving to Boys Model Secondary School, Onicha Olona, an all-boarding school, to complete his secondary education. In 1998, he gained admission to Delta State University, where he studied Theatre Arts. Career Progression and Notable Works Bovi began his professional career in entertainment in April 2007, initially starring in, writing, and producing the popular sitcom *Extended Family*. This show served as his entry point into the Nigerian entertainment industry. From 2008 to 2011, he emerged as a significant force in Nigeria's stand-up comedy circuit, performing at numerous shows and events across the country. His stand-up comedy career has seen him entertain African audiences in major global cities including Lagos, Accra, Vancouver, London, Atlanta, and Melbourne. His body of work includes successful sitcoms and films such as *The Bovi Ugboma Show*, *Back To School*, *Banana Republic*, and *Visa On Arrival*. Major Achievements and Current Status Bovi has successfully organized and headlined several stand-up comedy concerts under the franchise *Bovi: Man on Fire*, cementing his status as a globally touring comedian. He is married to Kris Asimonye Ugboma (since 2009) and they have three children. He continues to actively practice his crafts as a comedian, actor, and writer, maintaining a prominent presence in the Nigerian and international entertainment landscape.
