Recognized for his speed, strength, and versatility, Bassey has emerged as a key defensive player for both club and country. He represents the Nigeria national team and currently plays for the English club Fulham. Early Life and Education Calvin Bassey was born on December 31, 1999, in Aosta, Italy. He later moved to England and was raised in the United Kingdom. His birth name was Calvin Chinedu Ughelumba, which he later changed to Calvin Bassey. Career Progression Bassey began his youth career in England. He spent time in the youth systems of various clubs before joining Leicester City's academy. In 2020, he moved to the Scottish Premiership side Rangers. During his two seasons at Ibrox, he quickly established himself as a fan favourite due to his tenacious defending and impressive physical attributes. In July 2022, Bassey made a high-profile move to the Dutch club Ajax, with Rangers receiving the highest transfer fee in their history. He spent one season in the Netherlands before returning to the English Premier League in July 2023, signing with Fulham.
